Live Auctions

Bidding in Person

Experience the excitement, theatre and fun of bidding at a Live Auction. You can register to bid at a Live Auction either in person or online using My Mossgreen.

We suggest that you arrive early so that you have sufficient time to register for a bidding number prior to the auction. If this is your first time bidding with Mossgreen, please bring photo ID, such as a driver’s licence or passport. You will be asked to agree to Mossgreen’s Conditions of Sale.

Telephone Bidding is a convenient option if you are unable to attend an auction in person. To register, please complete and sign the form. Please email the completed form to accounts@mossgreen.com.au or fax to +613 9508 8899 at least 24 hours prior to the auction. If this is your first time bidding with Mossgreen, photo ID verifying address is to be supplied with the form.

Once your registration is complete, a Mossgreen staff member will call you on the day of the auction and bid with your instruction on your behalf.

Absentee Bidding

Absentee bidding is another convenient option if you are unable to attend an auction in person, by telephone or if you simply have a strict budget. To place an absentee bid, please complete the absentee bidding form. Please email the completed form to accounts@mossgreen.com.au or fax to +613 9508 8899 at least 24 hours prior to the auction. If this is your first time bidding with Mossgreen, photo ID verifying address is to be supplied with the form.

An absentee bid should be the highest price you are willing to pay, exclusive of buyer’s premium and GST, for an item. A successful absentee bid will be executed at the lowest price according to the reserve on the item and other bids received. If an item attracts tied bids, the bid which was registered first is given precedence. All absentee bids are time-stamped.

Bidding commences on Online Auctions once the online catalogue is published. You will be able to place bids on a Lot until the Lot closes as per the countdown timer. Lots close consecutively in two minute intervals.

Note: If a bid is placed within the last two minutes of the Lot closing, the closing time of the Lot will be extended by two minutes. Closing times of other Lots in the auction will not be affected.

You may place bids that match or exceed the asking bid. A bid that exceeds the asking bid will be actioned similarly to an absentee bid, i.e. No other bidders will see your maximum bid.
